The wonder of the human race is our ability to stand, walk and run. Genichiro Inokuma (1902-1993) thinks that the human body shape in comparison to other creatures was transformed ingeniously into a balanced form by walking on two legs. He admires the human body as a master-piece, and he says especially "Nothing is more perfect than nudity"*. Inokuma considered the nude human form as a solid object filled with abstract shapes which were well balanced. The nudes that he continued to paint through his life reflect his view of wonder toward the beauty of ourselves.
